CEO Organizes Successful Baron Business Plan Competition Dinner
In one of the first major in-person social events since the Covid-19 pandemic began, CEO’s 91³Ô¹ÏÍø chapter held a dinner event to announce and celebrate this year’s Baron Business Plan competition winners.
The competition has become an annual 91³Ô¹ÏÍø tradition thanks to the generous financial and moral support from 91³Ô¹ÏÍø alumni Mr. Tom Baron. The event was held on the 91³Ô¹ÏÍø quad on Saturday, April 30. In his presentation, social impact entrepreneur Michael Schumer emphasized his passion to improve the lives of others through innovative public service. His organization, Points for Patriots, connects military and civilian families to an ecosystem of 45+ Veteran Mentors, Patriot Fellows, Military Spouses, and Civilian Ambassadors across 15 states through the flagship Patriot Fellowship & Spouse Connect programming.
Schumer complimented the budding entrepreneurs who participated in this year’s competition on their efforts and encouraged them to continue their initiatives toward making a difference, even if they were not winners in this particular setting. He also spoke highly of 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s CEO Chapter and the value of the competition to students.
This year’s panel of judges included Jane Skeeter, serial entrepreneur, founder of UltraGlas, and Past President of NAWBO-LA (National Association of Women Business Owners); Shawn Morey, Realtor and Principal Broker at Dwell Real Estate group, managing partner at NutriShop, and owner of the Paid to Play Media Group; and Piere Pirnejad, Real Estate Professional.
The panel ultimately awarded the following prizes:
- 1st Place – Samuel Kleinberg (Management, School of Business) – $3,000
- 2nd Place – Erin Williams (Filmmaking, School of Media, Culture, and Design) – $1,200
- 3rd Place – Arturo Vilchis (Architecture, School of Architecture)- $800
The prizes and dinner were sponsored by Mr. Tom Baron. The current CEO Board, led by Samuel Kleinberg, with the support of Melody Klein (Management) and Chanel Cruz (Applied Computer Science), may look back at a professionally and well-implemented event.
